It was a real delight to meet so many of you on Monday morning. Many thanks for your kind welcome and interest in the children’s learning. I was happy to witness so many positive conversations between parents and teachers as they shared information about students and their own experiences.
The school is looking fantastic. I cannot believe the work that has been completed in such a short time. The pool is well underway and I am sure many have noticed that the tiles are HAIS blue!
As the grounds of HAIS filled with laughter, excitement, and joy, there was an overwhelming sense of comradery and familiarity in the air. There was no doubt that all of our kids were excited to get back to school and see their friends and teachers. Even our little ones who may have had a few tears at first, soon settled once they realized they were home.
Round Table with Ms.Sue
This week I had some classes come to visit me in my office (opposite the Reception) where we had an entertaining round table session. The students were an absolute delight and were confident in the discussions held during their meet. I was pleasantly surprised when one student got up to say goodbye and wished me well on my role as the new Principal.
Thank you to the parents who joined us for the working bee in our lovely green spaces, i.e the garden and playground. We were very happy to have our sustainability leaders Mr. Chase and Ms. Bphu direct some of the activity and engage with our parents. I was saddened that I was unable to join this initiative but know that all our parents were well looked after. We hope that this helped you feel more connected to our new spaces in the same way that our children and we do.
As many of you are aware HAIS is in our first year of IB candidacy and we are pleased to announce that all Primary Years, Early Years and Specialist Teachers will be undergoing IB training at the school over the weekend of 31 Aug and 1st September. We are pleased to have the IB team join us on our grounds and welcome a weekend of learning and sharing for staff.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new students of the HAIS family: ChaeYeong and ChaeA Kim, Leo and Arthur Hjortso, Aahaan; Atharvv and Ashvvik Dutta, Archie and Cameron Reid, Jake Barbush, Ryder Burns, Ron Trung Kien Nguyen, Harry Kien Huy Tran, An Duc Than, Huy Viet and Nhan Viet Bui, Di Tang Nguyen, May Van Nhi Nguyen, Lam and Minh Le, Ruby Bao Tran Nguyen, Toan Minh Nguyen & Suri Quynh Thy Nguyen Tran.
