HAIS Headlines – Week 18

Dear Parents,

The festive season has finally arrived and while we are all eagerly awaiting Christmas, it is all too easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the holiday preparations. The festive season is about so much more than festive decor and gifts under the tree — it’s about celebrating family, friends, and everything else that brings you joy and spending this time with loved ones.

It is a season not only of celebration but of reflection. So, as we reflect and celebrate the term that has passed, I would like to highlight some very important moments here at HAIS.

We hosted a working bee in our lovely green spaces and were pleasantly surprised at the turnout. This was an initiative aimed at connecting our parents to our new spaces. Our parents have played such an integral role in the enhancement of the environment and atmosphere here at HAIS and while this was the first of many successful events held here at HAIS, our parent community continues to be actively involved in facilitating the learning here at HAIS. The support of our parents has been unwavering.

An Eventful Term

We have hosted many outstanding events in our first term, starting from our student-led mid-autumn festival to our parent-led international week workshops. We later got into the holiday spirit with our unforgettable Hoi An holiday bazaar, organized by our parent community followed by our Winter Wonderland which brought the feeling of Christmas to our community and showcased the very best of our students.

Sporting Chance

Our girls’ football team who participated in their first-ever football tournament, played with such tenacity and commitment and did not lose a single match.

HAIS Ground Breakers

Our youngest learner’s trash is our treasure initiative which shows that you are never too young to make a difference.

Our Grade 5 learners who have been breaking new ground with solutions for problems they have identified in the community which aligns with the 17 UN sustainability goals. These problems include climate change, pollution, education inequality, and poverty.

Our secondary learners set the bar as they attempted to accomplish realism using graphite pencil. Well done to our senior learners for successfully setting a goal and achieving it.

Our amazing team aspires to create an environment of learning, working, smiling and laughing. Most of these wonderful highlights would not have been possible without them.

To every one of you, Thank you.  Term 1 has greeted us with many firsts, growth, evolution, and community. Wishing that all our HAIS families experience the true meaning of Christmas, that your home be filled with joy, your hearts be filled with love and your life with laughter. I  cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us all and look forward to welcoming you all back in the new term.
