At HAIS we offer two very diverse yet interconnected programmes. Both the international and bilingual programmes set out to build on the foundation established in kindergarten. During these years we aim to instill a high, non-stop degree of concentration, interest, and willingness to participate in the learning process. These programmes encourage a rich diversity of approaches to teaching and learning that cater to the different needs of individual children and aim to provide an extensive learning experience. The primary years’ programmes delivers a cross-curricular approach that coincides with our school ethos, culture, and students.

International Primary Programme

We believe that the development of our students occurs when they are actively involved in their learning. Our primary years programme builds on the foundations developed in Kindergarten. The aim of our primary programme is to instill a passion for learning and willingness to participate in the learning process.

We encourage our students to take ownership of and responsibility for their learning. Students’ learning is facilitated on a diverse platform with scope for teacher, student and inquiry led learning as well as project based studies. Students are encouraged to collaborate with others along their lifelong learning journeys. Our teachers aim to inspire students by designing lessons that are impactful, meaningful and allow students to begin to realise their dreams.

Primary Bilingual Programme

We have built a strong foundation with our uniquely designed Bilingual Primary Years Programme. The programme aims to deliver a high international standard of education combined with the true value of the Vietnamese language and culture, thus preparing our students to become global citizens.

The programme provides students with an unparalleled opportunity to learn in an environment that supports language development in both English and Vietnamese. Bilingual students share the class with international students in all specialized single subjects providing them with many opportunities to interact and engage with one another on an ongoing basis.

At HAIS , the core programme mandated by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training has been altered to align with the HAIS learner profiles:

  • Foster independent thinkers
  • Inspire students to be reflective and to self-explore.
  • Encourage creativeness, and initiative.
  • Encourage students to take responsibility for themselves, their actions, the community and the world in which they live.
