Community Support
One of the greatest strengths of HAIS is our parent community. Families support one another in countless ways, from organising playdates and sharing school runs to celebrating milestones and welcoming new families into the school. Together, they help create a warm and inclusive environment where lasting friendships are formed, and every family feels a genuine sense of belonging.
Engaged in Learning
Learning extends beyond the classroom, and parents play an important role in every child’s educational journey. From attending learning conferences and student celebrations to volunteering at school events and supporting classroom experiences, families are actively involved in school life. Through open communication and strong partnerships with teachers, we work together to help every student grow with confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Making Memories Together
Throughout the year, our parent community helps bring school life to life. Whether supporting fundraising initiatives, joining cultural celebrations, cheering at sports events, or contributing to performances and community projects, parents enrich the HAIS experience for every student. Their generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment strengthen the sense of community that makes HAIS feel like home.

A word from our parents
We were very lucky to have chosen HAIS for our two girls five years ago; it was the perfect match for them. The oldest was in Year 3 and the youngest in kindergarten, and they are now about to start Year 8 and Year 5! HAIS has dedicated and professional teachers and teacher assistants who not only share their knowledge but also care for the wellbeing of the children. The rest of the leadership team and staff are always looking out for them. The girls are doing very well academically and participating in the various programs that the school offers. They especially enjoy swimming, art, drama, music, and field trips. They are both shy and reserved, but their personalities are well respected, and we’ve seen them grow and thrive so much. They are making wonderful memories at the school and with their friends, which is the most valuable aspect of being part of the HAIS community.

Anna has been at Hoi An International School for 3 years now. Watching her grow and develop over this time has been truly amazing. She has made significant progress in both English and Vietnamese language skills, and it’s been wonderful to see her overall development as a person. HAIS offers a unique educational setup with both Vietnamese and Western educators, providing Anna with a balanced and diverse exposure to different cultures and learning approaches. It’s been incredible to witness this blend in her education. Anna also benefits from numerous outdoor learning experiences and excursions off-campus, which I find very enriching. She has made many good friends, which is crucial at this stage, and there’s a strong sense of community at the school as well.
Mr. Jack Bartholomew
My daughter has been studying at HAIS since she was 18 months old and is now in Year 1. At first, I was very concerned about the 15-kilometer distance from home to school, especially during rainy and windy weather. However, once she settled in, she began to truly enjoy her time at HAIS, and we decided to continue her education here. Research shows that the early years, from 0 to 5, are crucial for brain development and lay the foundation for a child’s future. At HAIS, I truly appreciate the open environment, the dedicated teachers, and the opportunities for children to explore their surroundings. Most importantly, my daughter is excited and happy to go to school each day.

I have three sons who attend Primary and Secondary at HAIS, and they’ve been here for three years now. To me, HAIS is very much a boutique-style school. You can see it in the small class sizes and the quality of teaching. It’s reassuring to know there’s a cap on the number of students per class, which ensures more focused attention and meaningful interaction. What truly stands out is the consistency and commitment of the teachers. Many have been here long-term, and that makes a real difference. They know the children well, watch them grow, and guide them through each stage of their learning journey. It’s a beautiful combination, high-quality teaching in a small, supportive environment. And the results show in how happy and confident the children are.
Mr Marcel
Being part of the HAIS Early Years programme has been an absolute joy for our family, mostly because of the really caring approach that the teachers have towards the children. We have observed significant growth in our kids' fundamental skills, including literacy, numeracy, and cultural understanding. The diverse backgrounds and family dynamics of the children at HAIS have positively impacted our kids, enhancing their confidence in social interactions. In terms of the physical development, I'm really satisfied with the growth I've seen in terms of their ability to participate in sports. There are really fun and engaging competitions, such as the house competitions they have every Friday, and also sports like swimming which they absolutely love. Would I recommend the HAIS Early Years programme to other parents? Absolutely yes. Hoi An International School is a very warm, colourful and inviting school with such a special community spirit that we just love sending our kids here every day.

As both a parent and a member of staff, I have experienced HAIS from different perspectives, and I can honestly say that I love being part of this community. The school offers a strong academic programme while also encouraging students to explore their passions through the arts, sports, leadership opportunities, and extracurricular activities. What makes HAIS truly special, however, is its sense of community. Students, teachers, and families genuinely care for one another and create an environment where every child feels supported. As my daughter prepares to graduate from Primary School and begin Secondary School, there is no greater vote of confidence I can give than choosing HAIS for my own child.
