An event to celebrate the arrival of the warm weather and gather the community together to raise money for the Hearing & Beyond Foundation.
On Saturday April 13th, Hoi An International School will hold a FUN’d FEST, an annual spring fundraising event, which will be held at three adjoining venues on the beachfront; Barefoot Beach Club, Salt Restaurant & Bar, and Esco Beach Hoi An.
The event will start at 7 AM with a FUN’d Run where everyone from the Hoi An and Da Nang communities can participate in the run to raise money for a good cause. They will receive sponsorship forms to collect money per lap – so every step counts!
Runners and non-runners are encouraged to take part, and can register here. The FUN’d Run will be followed by beachside entertainment, artisan stalls and great food and drinks that will continue flowing throughout the day.

The NGO that HAIS is supporting, Hearing and Beyond – was founded by Mái McCann, who established the not-for-profit school to provide a quality education for children with hearing impairment in Hoi An. Mái is a qualified nurse who returns to Australia each year to undertake three-month placements, allowing her to earn the money needed to run the school.
Last year’s HAIS Spring Fair also raised money for Hearing & Beyond, and had a significant amount of publicity and interest, with over 1000 participants attending on the day. A total of 84M VND was raised, allowing HAIS to contribute to the costs of two new enrolments at the Hearing & Beyond school. This year, the FUN’d FEST event aims to raise enough funds to continue the education of these wonderfully grateful children.
HAIS CEO and Founder Tran Hanh An said “Mai’s commitment to supporting vulnerable children in our community is inspirational. The work that the Hearing & Beyond team does is absolutely necessary to support children who would otherwise be forgotten. We are proud to support their organisation and will continue to deliver fantastic events year on year to help local children in need.”

Hoi An International School’s Parent Community will also be hosting an all-day raffle at the FUN’d FEST, that will have extensive prizes to add to the donation pool, and the Tan Thanh Beach Tourism Community will also help with organisation to help host the event.
“At HAIS, part of our social responsibility is to give back to the community. The FUN’d FEST demonstrates to our students that a combination of creative thinking, hard work, and empathy can help to tackle social challenges and bring people together.” Ms An said.
“The rigor and resolve that our parents and administrative staff show in putting the event together is truly humbling. Our collective values bring our community together for a meaningful and fun day of exercise, activities, and live music.”
The event will run from 7 AM – 4 PM at Than Tan Beach.
