Growing up in the United States with Vietnamese parents, Anna’s journey to Vietnam was more than just a holiday; it was a quest to reconnect with her cultural heritage. Initially arriving for a brief four-month visit, Anna found herself immediately drawn to the country, eventually securing a position at Hoi An International School. Now serving as the Administrative Assistant to the Principal & International HR Coordinator at Hoi An International School, Anna embodies the essence of big-hearted business, balancing administrative duties with a warm, people-centric approach.
Anna’s upbringing, shaped by her parents’ experiences as immigrants, instilled in her a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for education. Her father and mother met in New Jersey, where they sought better opportunities for their family. Despite growing up in a prosperous country, Anna felt a profound connection to her parents’ homeland and a desire to explore her roots.
At just 26 years old, Anna’s life story is a testament to resilience and determination. Despite facing challenges and obstacles along the way, she navigated her path with grace and determination. From her childhood, where gatherings with extended family centred around Vietnamese cuisine, to her academic achievements in upper primary and secondary school, Anna’s journey has been marked by a strong sense of identity and purpose.
Anna’s academic excellence continued into higher education, where she excelled at Rutgers University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree. As part of the Business Leadership Development and Honours Programme, Anna honed her skills both academically and culturally, participating in learning abroad programmes in South Africa and Italy.
Despite her achievements, Anna remains humble and focused on personal growth. Her journey from the USA to Vietnam is a testament to the power of embracing one’s cultural roots and finding purpose in community and connection.
As she continues to develop in her career, Anna’s commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity reflects her deep-seated values and unwavering dedication to making a positive impact in the world.
