Write Your Own Stories | Binoy’s Story: Four Years at HAIS
When Binoy joined Hoi An International School almost four years ago, his parents were looking for a school where he could grow academically while developing his confidence, independence and interests beyond the classroom. Since then, Binoy has become an active part of the HAIS community, from making friends across cultures to representing the school in Football and Basketball. His parents, Mr Chalitha and Ms Madara, have seen him grow in many ways throughout his time at HAIS. A message from Binoy’s parents
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our experience as part of the HAIS community.
Since joining HAIS almost four years ago, we have seen a very positive impact on Binoy’s learning journey and overall development. As parents, one of the things we value most is the supportive, caring, and encouraging environment that the school provides. We truly appreciate the dedication of the teachers and the individual attention given to each child’s learning needs and progress.
We have particularly noticed how Binoy has grown not only academically, but also in his confidence, communication skills, independence, and willingness to participate in different activities. The teachers’ approach to understanding each student’s individual learning pace and providing the appropriate support and encouragement has been very meaningful to us.
One of the aspects we value most about HAIS is its truly international and multicultural environment. With students representing over 40 different nationalities, Binoy has had a wonderful opportunity to make friends from many different countries and cultural backgrounds. This experience has helped him develop a broader understanding of the world, learn to respect different cultures and traditions, and appreciate the value of diversity.
As parents, it is wonderful to see him building friendships with children from different parts of the world, learning about their cultures, and becoming more open-minded and confident in communicating with people from different backgrounds. We believe this multicultural experience is an important part of his personal development and something that will benefit him throughout his life.
Beyond academics, we are especially proud of Binoy’s development and achievements in sports. HAIS has provided him with wonderful opportunities to discover and develop his sporting interests. Binoy has proudly represented the school as part of the Football and Basketball teams, which has helped him develop teamwork, discipline, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility.
One particularly memorable achievement for our family was seeing Binoy become a Gold Medalist at the school’s Sports Carnival. Moments like these have been incredibly meaningful to us, as they reflect not only his personal effort but also the encouragement, opportunities, and positive sporting culture provided by the school.
We truly value the school’s focus on developing well-rounded students. The balance between academic learning, sports, extracurricular activities, multicultural experiences, and personal development has helped Binoy grow in many different ways. Seeing him confidently participate in school activities, represent his school teams, and enjoy being part of such a diverse and supportive community has been a wonderful experience for us as parents.
Another aspect we greatly appreciate is the strong communication between the school and parents. We always feel well informed about Binoy’s progress, learning activities, and areas where he may need additional support. This partnership between teachers and parents gives us great confidence that Binoy is receiving the right guidance throughout his learning journey.
One of the most meaningful experiences for us has been seeing Binoy become more confident in expressing himself, taking ownership of his learning, and actively participating in both academic and sporting activities.
As parents, seeing him enjoy going to school, feel connected with his teachers and classmates, build friendships across different cultures, and proudly represent his school in different activities is something we truly value.
We are grateful to be part of the HAIS community and sincerely appreciate the commitment, care, and effort of the teachers, coaches, and the entire school team. We look forward to continuing this journey and seeing Binoy grow further, academically, personally, socially, and through sports, in the years ahead.
Binoy’s story is still being written.
With new challenges to take on, new interests to explore and new experiences ahead, we look forward to seeing where his journey takes him next.
Thank you, Binoy and his parents, Mr Chalitha and Ms Madara, for being part of the HAIS community and for sharing your story with us.
